Mile Zero

Science-fiction mystery20 minutes6 scenes

A delivery driver passes a desert mile marker, drives on, and arrives at the same marker again. His fuel gauge says he has driven forty miles.

Synopsis

Cal must deliver a refrigerated medical case across a remote desert route. After repeatedly reaching the same mile marker, he stops at a diner where an elderly waitress describes other drivers’ reports of the loop. She directs him to an old service road, but its rules are strange and incomplete. Cal’s deadline and the medical case’s temperature limit make waiting impossible. The anomaly is real, but the story’s emotional test is whether he will help another stranded driver when doing so may jeopardize his own delivery.

Cal completes the delivery, but cannot reconcile the date discrepancy. The film preserves the mystery while making his choice to help the other driver matter.

What This Film Tests
